For me and my family Healthcare is in our genetics. My grandfather was a physician in Roanoke, my wife a P.A. in Roanoke and Gretna, My mother an RN for over 30 years in Roanoke, my Father In-Law a Physician in Bluefield, and a stepmother as a Nurse Practitioner in Pulaski. I myself have practiced as a P.A. in most of Virginia from Bluefield to Richmond, and Harrisonburg to Danville. I have worked in several cities and towns between there as well and now find myself commuting just off the base of Candler Mountain.
I completed Undergraduate studies at Roanoke College in Salem Virginia, the same town in which I was born. I enrolled in Graduate school and received my Masters of Science in Physician assistant studies at University of Charleston- at Beckley Formerly known as Mountain State University or even earlier as Beckley College. I completed most of my Medical training rotational sites in Virginia including Bedford Memorial Hospital with the remainder in southern West Virginia.
I have worked as a Physician Assistant in a multitude of settings and pride myself on the breadth of knowledge these opportunities have provided me. I have worked at walk in clinics in Danville. I later worked in the Emergency room at South Hill, Va and later in the Emergency Room at Salem VA. I transitioned practice into the Correctional setting at Western Virginia Regional Jail where I learned a lot about medicine and people as well. After that I worked as a traveling Urgent care provider at MedExpress and worked in nearly a dozen different clinics across several regions of Virginia. After that I transitioned to Occupational Health in Richmond Immediately preceding my employment in Lynchburg. I value the depth of experience these jobs have provided and have taken care of people from nearly every walk of life.
I live in Salem, Va in the same city I was born in. I have 3 young children and have been blessed with beautiful family and Land in Roanoke County. In the Spring and Summer I can be found on the James River, Smith Mountain Lake, or Claytor Lake during the summer. During the Fall and winter I am usually in the woods on my property in search of the animal with our great states name in its taxonomic classification.
