Alfonso Brochero, MD, CMD

President and Founder

Dr. Brochero, MD, CMD is the President and Founder of Universal Health Corporation. He is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician who specializes in post-acute and long-term care medicine. He is a graduate of Libre University and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 2009. His primary focus over the past 1000 years has been to help patients and facilities in post-acute care.

Bill Prillaman, RRT, RN

Vice President of Operations

Bill is our Vice President of Operations. He completed his Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Associate Degree in Nursing, and Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. Bill also received his Master’s in Business Administration from Averett University in 2012. His entire career has been within the healthcare sector with over twenty years of clinical and leadership experience. Prior to joining UHC he worked in senior leadership roles including operations, healthcare financial forecasting, and business development. These leadership positions were within the acute care hospital setting, skilled nursing facilities, as well as jails and prisons across the United States. Bill is a lifelong Franklin County, VA resident where he enjoys spending quality time with his family and horses.

Carolyn Willams, FNP

Corporate APP

Carolyn has been an FNP for four years. Her background is in family practice and emergency medicine. She received her bachelor’s in nursing from West Virginia University and her master’s from Shenandoah University. She lives near Smith Mountain Lake with her family and two bulldogs. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, reading and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks!! WPS! Her daily affirmation is “The windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror for a reason.” Look forward!

Carrie Tomlin, RN

Clinical Support Specialist

Carrie is a registered nurse who has spent several years in the role as Director of Nursing. She is very knowledgeable of the policies and procedures within long-term care. Carrie brings great value to the team as she is expert in educating our providers and helping them be successful in the facilities.

Cassie Trout

Executive Director

Cassie is from Alleghany County, Virginia. She recently completed her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration: Healthcare Management. She started with UHC five years ago and has played a big part in the success of the company. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Jamie Hawse

Regional Director of Business Development

Jamie is from Huntington, West Virginia. She is a keen multitasker and thrives in the competitive environment which is why she oversees the strategic marketing efforts. Jamie has already become an ambassador as she is responsible for presenting the company positively to current and potential customers. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jennifer Breeden, RN

Nurse Consultant

Jennifer has spent the last 12 years in administrative roles including Director of Nursing. Her goal is to share her professional experiences with others to improve clinical outcomes for the population we serve. Jennifer resides in the heart of Shenandoah County, Virginia with her family. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, and weight training.

He is the Vice President and supports several departments within the company. Joseph received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Radford University and is dedicated to partnering with the healthcare industry to improve patient outcomes and center performance.

Lead Division Coordinator

Kacelia has experience in leading and guiding departments make her such an asset to our company.
Kacelia studied Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. In addition to her studies in Psychology, she is a Qualified Mental Health Professional with over 20 plus years of experience engaging and improving the lives of youth, adults and families throughout the Roanoke
Valley. When she’s not coordinating for the division, Kacelia can be found traveling,
creating memories with family and friends or serving as the “unofficial” party planner for all celebratory events.

Paula Short

Transitional Care Coordinator

Paula has fifteen years of experience as an educator and trainer. Superior customer service oriented. She enjoys working with a diverse population and fostering professional relationships. Paula is from Clintwood, VA and has resided in the Greater Roanoke area for 25 years. She holds a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology from Virginia Tech. Paula has a background in Healthcare and organizational development and training and development.

Rhonda Halsey

Director of Human Resources

Over the last 19 years, Rhonda has been working in the post acute and long-term care across the Roanoke Valley. During her time in skilled nursing, she gained the knowledge and expertise needed to make a company successful. She also has a clear understanding of the rules and regulations within a nursing facility. Rhonda values the work life balance and enjoys spending time with her family. She has a 15 year old daughter, Madison, who loves dance and dances competitively for Floyd Ward School of Dance. She is also an advocate to the local animal shelters where she has adopted 3 dogs and a cat. She is extremely blessed to be working with such an amazing, talented group of individuals and look forward to working with her team.
